5 Go-To “Healthier” Dessert Recipes

I am all about food as a fuel, however, I also really enjoy eating and could never give up the pleasures of dessert. In my journey to find food that makes my body feel good, I’ve scoured the internet for grain-free, healthier dessert options that won’t leave me feeling bloated and crashing from all the sugar.

I’ve baked countless recipes, and some have failed so hard that I couldn’t even get our dog to eat the leftovers. (Yes- that bad.) So you don’t have to waste the time, effort and money (these ingredients aren’t cheap!) , I’m sharing with you five of our favorite dessert recipes that do not disappoint.

I’ve included recipes from some of my favorite food bloggers, so be sure to peruse their sites for other goodies as well!

These were a constant in our house for MONTHS. I baked them every single weak. We loved the paleo version of this recipe and we’ve shared it with several non-paleo eaters who echoed our enthusiasm for this recipe. My husband prefers it without the coconut butter drizzle, but I love the added flavor. Try it both ways!

Don’t let this holiday photo fool you, this bread is perfect all year round. Whenever I make this treat it doesn’t last more than two days in the house. The whole family loves it! Top it with some nut butter and it’s a super filling snack.

This recipe is so simple that I thought it would be terrible the first time I made it. Boy- was I wrong! This recipe is so easy to throw together and the end result are fluffy, sweet muffins. I like to sub the coconut oil for avocado oil.

For those chocolate and peanut butter lovers, this recipe is on point. I make these sparingly because we have a peanut butter loving doberman who is also extremely naughty. The first two times I made these delicious brownies he waited until our backs were turned and licked the icing right off! Those of you with dogs…you’ve been warned!

Clean Eating with a Dirty Mind’s Simple Chocolate Chip Cookie

I just love a simple recipe that can be whipped together in no time! The almond flour in these chocolate chip cookies give them a wonderful nutty taste adding a fun spin on the traditional cookie flavor.
