A few weeks ago, Adam surprised me with tickets for an Architecture Boat Tour on the Chicago River with Tours & Boats, and a couple weeks ago we finally got to get out and make a date night of the tour.
The tour lasted 90 minutes and was an informative and entertaining mix of architectural history of the city. Our tour guide disseminated the information in a pretty entertaining way (I always love getting tour guides with a sense of humor) and it was so awesome to learn about the rich history of our new home. Whether it was debunking some common myths (like the truth behind the start of Chicago’s great fire) or pointing out design nuances that were particular to the architects, we had such a great time learning about the eclectic makings of the city.
