Happy wedding anniversary to my best bud and adventure partner fo’ life!
Two years ago today, we had the most joyful celebration surrounded by some of our favorite people and I thought I would share some of our wedding photos to reflect on the day that kickstarted our journey.
Adam and I were already legally bound and living in Illinois at the time, so major props to my friend Taylor who made the wedding of my dreams come to fruition. Because Adam and I had already gotten hitched in an intimate family ceremony in July, our wedding day was truly a celebration and reaffirmation of the commitment we were making to our journey together. No nerves, no cold feet. Just lots of celebrating. We had a boho-style wedding in a Tennessee State Park. Because of rain that day, all of our festivities were moved inside a little lodge. We garnished the venue with marsala flowers and winding greenery, with lots of candle light for an intimate feel. (pictures below)
My Wedding Planning Tidbit
When you are setting your budget for your wedding, prioritize and know what aspects of your day you want to invest in. Adjust the rest of your spending accordingly.
For me, I knew that I wanted to splurge on photography. I felt that it was important to document the day in a way that really felt like us. Plus photographs last long after all the cake is gone and the flowers are wilted.
Adam and I wanted photographers who would not only capture the details, but also the candid moments we love so much. I personally wanted a style that felt classic and timeless, and it was important to me that our photographers just got it. When we met with Jordan & Alaina over coffee, we just knew they were the ones to capture our special day. If you are looking for engagement/wedding photos, I highly recommend them! Two years after our wedding, I am still in love with the way they captured our day for us. And they travel! Check them out here: Jordan & Alaina Photography
