Well, it’s September now and if your social media isn’t vomiting pumpkin spice then…ok, who am I kidding.- you can’t be alive and miss out on the arrival of pumpkin spice. It’s everywhere. And I am not mad about it. It’s one of my favorite things. (Not kidding, I accidentally typed “basic” instead of “favorite.” I know you were thinking it so let’s just call it like we see it.)
In fact, let’s just get the basics out of the way. I love leggings. And pumpkin spice. And oversized everything. And yes- fall is totally my favorite season. I overheard a girl at the store the other day telling her friends that she hates fall. Hates fall?! Who hates fall?? I don’t know her, but she’s dead to me.
Anyway, I digress…
The changing of the seasons means we all get to transition our wardrobes and, boy, do I love the art of layering! However, before the temperatures really take a plunge, we still need pieces that breathe. So let me tell you about a couple of my favorite trends this season and the way I’m transitioning them into my favorite season.

A Tangent on my New Favorite Store
I discovered my new favorite store last weekend, and if you’ve got a taste for boho accents in your wardrobe, then I highly recommend you check them out. Born in Knoxville, TN (shout out to my college days!) Altar’d State is a store of mindful fashion with a mission to fill the gap in the retail industry and to change the world for the better. They even developed their own store brand of which a portion of the sales aids in feeding, clothing, providing shelter and educating children around the world. If you are fortunate enough to have a store near you, you should check them out. The stores’ cozy decor speaks to your inner wild and free gypsy soul. Selling everything from apparel to home decor, they even have an area where you can fill out prayer requests. You guys, I’m obsessed so I had to let you know. But maybe you already know and I’m just behind… Who knows?
Now on to my Favorite Fall Trends
I found this fun dress from Altar’d State and I’m in love with the way it fits and the way it moves. Bell sleeves are all the rage this season and I’ve seen them on everything from professional wear to athleisure. This dress adds an airy, gypsy vibe that I can’t get enough of.
Also, as much as I love shoulder cut outs, I’m also a fan of tasteful cut outs in other areas. (I mean- it’s almost hard to find shirts that actually have shoulders amidst this trend.) This neck cut out is so dreamy and shows the right amount of skin to balance the draping fabric. Also, if you haven’t bought into the bootie trend, now is a good time to start. These peep-toe, ankle-showing booties are the perfect transition piece into the cooler weather.
